Frequently Asked Questions

QUESTION

What would it be like having you as photographers?

ANSWER

It will be like double dating with friends, we stay natural and easy going with all our clients (who are wayyyy beyond simple clients to us!). We promise to keep it fun and relaxed, to stay respectful and and attentive towards you the whole time.

QUESTION

What’s your work process?

ANSWER

First we meet and exchange with you, either in person or on skype. If we “click” we will discuss our packages and create a personal quote if necessary. We then ask for a deposit of 30% to make sure your date is secured and we sign the contract. Before your wedding you will receive a questionnaire which will give us all the informations to be the absolute best for you. On your big day, we’ll be your shadow and follow you everywhere (except maybe to the bathroom ahah), we’ll drool at your beautiful outfit and all the personalised details you’d have put into your wedding. We’ll cry, we’ll laugh and most of all we’ll click just at the right times!

QUESTION

When can we expect to receive our photos?

ANSWER

We make sure to deliver the photos to you within 4-6 weeks, it can seem like a long time but don’t worry, we aim to share 20-30 highlight photos within 24 hours of every marriage.
No matter which (wedding) package is chosen you’ll also receive them on a personalised engraved USB drive in full resolution*

*Not applicable for the 2 hour family/engagement/couple portrait shoots

QUESTION

What equipment do you have?

ANSWER

Good gear will never make a good photographer. But as professionals having the best tools available to create our art is very important to us.
We have 3 Canon Bodies ( 5d Mark IV, 6D Mark II, 6D Mark I) along with tons of magical Lens ( Canon 85mm 1.2L, Canon 70-200mm 2.8L II, Tokina Macro 100mm 2.8, Canon 16-35mm 2.8L II, Sigma Art 50mm 1.4 and several others)
We also have flashes, tripods, monopods, reflectors, and a few DIY special effects tricks up our sleeves… you get the idea, we’re totally covered!

QUESTION

How would you describe your style?

ANSWER

Our style is a romantic documentary style with influences fro, baroque renaissance paintings. We consider ourselves to be part of the dramatic and cinematic wedding photography style.

QUESTION

Do you always shoot together?

ANSWER

We really love working together and we really feel like we are two sides of the same coin. We totally complete each other in our photography approach, style and knowledge, so for larger weddings it is almost always the case we are photographing together.

However, with smaller shoots such as elopements and engagement sessions often only one of us is in attendance.

QUESTION

Do you travel?

ANSWER

Hell yes ! Definitely! Both of our fathers worked for the airlines, so we spent most of our childhood traveling across the globe (well Lance beats me by far but he has few years on me so I think that's cheating, haha). For us, traveling has always been a part of our life and always will be! We can grab a coffee and tell you all about some of our great adventures and help you plan yours, that’s what life is all about, after all. Send us your dream location for a shoot and let’s make it happen!

QUESTION

Do you give us all the RAW unedited files?

ANSWER

No. We get that it’s something that can be frustrating, knowing someone has thousands of pictures of you and you’ll never see some of them, but trust us. It’s for a good cause.
RAW files are like an unfinished painting, as if someone merely drew a rough layout and that’s it. How good of a painter would I be if I just delivered a pencil sketch to you?

With our editing we put colors, contrast, and highlights, etc in just the right places making the “painting” come to life. Rest assured, we can guarantee you we know what makes a good photo and the ones that aren’t selected and delivered aren’t worth it. We truly believe in quality over quantity, so put your trust in us, relax, and we promise you wont be feeling like you're missing out on anything (in fact most people are pleasantly surprised at the abundance of photos they DO get).

QUESTION

How many photos will we get?

ANSWER

The number of photos that will be provided directly depends on the time of coverage and guest.
For every package you can chose from there are a minimum number of photos but we never really count them as that number is often significantly exceeded. We will give you as many photos as we feel do justice to your day and important moments. Again, quality over quantity, but as our couples have noticed so far, we tend to create quality in large quantities!

QUESTION

Do you have any special deals we should know about?

ANSWER

Yes! We offer some discounts for certain elopements and destination weddings if they take place in Europe. Contact us to know more!

QUESTION

I’m really not photogenic, what if I don’t like myself on the photos?

ANSWER

Aaaaah. Be reassured, no one really thinks they’re photogenic (except maybe some models…) simply because we’ve mainly seen our face in the mirror all our life and seeing it on a photo is completely different (and backwards)! But you know what helps? A trained professional photographer! We often tell people how even we have had family members who have tried taking good photos of us. We’ll say “hey can you take a photo of us? We rarely get any of just the two of us,” and they take our fancy camera, with the exact same settings we were just using and… well… it’s doesn’t often work out. That’s because non professional photographers don’t necessarily know what a good frame is, what a flattering angle on the subjects are, how to properly sculpt the subject with the available light, and their timing for snapping the shot is probably off. So… you look at it and … well…disappointment.

As we know how to do do all these things we are confident you will look beautiful/handsome and radiant with joy in front of our lenses. But don’t take it from us, here are some words from one of our brides on this topic, “[The Archivers] were able to get us relaxed and I find myself pretty in all of the photos when I'm usually not a very photogenic person.” (Although we think she’s beautiful and not doing herself justice)

QUESTION

Posing in front of a camera seems really awkward, how do you make us more comfortable?

ANSWER

Of course. Don’t you worry you’re in good hands. In our training at Speos Photographic Institute, we had to pose for our classmates to practice studio and outdoor shoots, so we both really understand what it’s like to be in front of the camera.

However, during a couples portrait session we tend to think of it as a flow or dance. We might give a prompt to start from, but then we’ll just start talking and asking you silly questions and it starts to flow with only the occasional cue to get you put where “the light is epic there! You guys will look amazing in it if you just stand like this!” (As Lance will probably excitedly blurt out more than once during the shoot)

So let’s put some music, tell us about the first time you met each other, take some photos, excitedly show you a few shots on the back of the camera so you can see how good and cute you both are looking and enjoy the adventure!

QUESTION

When should we book you?

ANSWER

As soon as possible to ensure your date isn't booked already.

QUESTION

Is it ok if our guests take some photos at the wedding?

ANSWER

Yes. However, we STRONGLY recommend that our couples tell their guests to keep their phones and cameras put away during the ceremony. You've hired a professional photographer for a reason.

Nobody wants to see wedding photos with a bunch of guests staring at the screens on their phones rather than the special moments taking place before them. You probably don't want to risk the shot of a lifetime being stolen by an over eager guest when the same moment was about to be captured by a trained photographer. Even the most trained acrobatic photographer can’t work around the back of an uncle that suddenly jumps out just as the couple takes that first kiss as husband and wife, or as the twenty outstretched octopus-like arms with iPhones attached fill the church aisle while the bride is walked down it by her father.
